Timpani Software Becomes a Serena Technology Partner
BuildBeat Integrates with PVCS Version Manager

August 1, 2006 / Colorado Springs, CO

Timpani Software today announced it has joined forces with Serena Software by becoming a member of Serena's Technology Partnership program. Under the agreement, Timpani Software will have access to Serena software and technical resources, enabling tight integrations between the company's products.

Timpani Software plans to begin immediately integrating its flagship build management server software, BuildBeat, with Serena's PVCS Version Manager source code control system. This integration will allow PVCS users to incorporate advanced build management capabilities into their lifecycle, including continuous integration services and distributed building capabilities.

BuildBeat reduces time and trials for software integration, improves team communication, and increases project visibility and software quality. PVCS Version Manager tracks and manages source code, documents, and digital asset development for software production environments.

BuildBeat's integration with PVCS will include user-interface screens tailored specifically to PVCS, and incorporates the terminology and concepts used by PVCS, making it easy for users to setup up a PVCS-driven continuous integration process. With the integration in place, BuildBeat will trigger an automated build whenever a software check-in occurs in a PVCS project.

"We are pleased to become a technology partner with Serena Software," said Kevin Dietz, the founder and CEO of Timpani Software. "Integrating our build management software with PVCS will enable Serena customers to utilize the latest techniques in agile software development practices, such as continuous integration." Timpani Software's founder is no stranger to Serena Software. Mr. Dietz formerly founded TeamShare, which as acquired by Serena in 2003. Mr. Dietz was the chief architect of TeamTrack, now owned by Serena. In the future, Timpani Software also plans to integrate with TeamTrack.
