Most BuildBeat tasks are driven by external command line
programs. This means that BuildBeat must be able to find
the desired command line program either from the environment's
PATH, or from a specific location on the file system.
In some cases, you may wish to use different versions of the
command line program in different places. Thus, BuildBeat provides
a convenient way of configuring default settings for each task.
The defaults can then be overriden on a case-by-case basis.
