Recommendations for Hybrid Windows/Unix/Linux Shops

• If available, use a Windows 2003 Server to act as the master BuildBeat server. Following the steps in Chapter 2 of the Administrator's Manual, use the setup program to install the BuildBeat Service and Web Reports.
• If desired, setup cross-platform build agents on other platform servers. Follow the instruction in Chapter 3 of the BuildBeat Administrator's Manual.

• Alternatively, use the Eclipse plug-in to monitor BuildBeat projects.

• To administer BuildBeat, use the BuildBeat Command Line program. This can be done by using ssh to attach to the BuildBeat server machine, or by installing the BuildBeat Command Line program on a desktop machine.
